I had the pleasure of working with Karl Wilson for three days in late February when he acted as an interpreter for a delegation of New Caledonian social housing operators. Karl’s tasks during these three days involved translating during a welcoming ceremony, through various presentations and meetings with government officials, and during site visits to housing developments in Wellington and Auckland. In what would have been an exhausting task for any ordinary person, for three full days Karl provided a thoroughly professional service. Karl’s remarkable ability to translate between English and French enabled clear communication between the delegation and government representatives that bridged the language divide. I was immensely satisfied with Karl’s service and would whole-heartedly recommend him to others.
